Launch with answers you have actually tested.
A practical Allieta Chat checklist for teams putting AI replies, human handoff, and customer follow-up into one workflow.
Before your first customer conversation
Allieta Chat combines replies from your business knowledge with live chat, lead management, and conversation insights. This guide is for teams setting up that workflow for the first time. Features and allowances depend on your plan. AI answers can be wrong, so source review and human oversight remain part of the work.
1. Give customers one reliable version of the answer.
Start with the questions your team already receives: product fit, policies, delivery, account setup, and what happens next. Choose the current page or document for each answer. Remove outdated or contradictory versions before uploading them. A larger knowledge base is not automatically a better one.
In Allieta, add your website sources or supported files in Knowledge Base. Review the source list and refresh website content when policies change. Avoid including secrets or information customers should not receive.
Use the knowledge-base preparation checklist2. Test questions, follow-ups, and missing information.
Write a small test set in the language your customers use. Include a straightforward question, a vague question, a follow-up, an outdated assumption, and a question your content cannot answer. Check the actual answer rather than only whether the chatbot responds.
Use the playground before publishing. For each test, record the question, the expected answer or handoff, what happened, and the source that needs improvement. Retest after changing a document or your Persona & Rules.
Build your answer-evaluation worksheet3. Decide when a person should take over.
Account-specific disputes, exceptions to a policy, and decisions that require judgment need a clear human path. Agree who will watch the queue, who owns each conversation, and what customers should expect when your team is unavailable.
Configure your team and test an escalation from the visitor’s side. Have a teammate review the conversation and continue it. Confirm that your published availability matches the people actually covering support; AI availability does not mean a human is always online.
Plan and rehearse human handoff4. Make a useful next step easy.
Some visitors need an answer. Others want a follow-up or need to share a few details. Decide which information is necessary for your team to act, and avoid collecting details just because a form allows it.
Review captured enquiries in Leads. If you use a conversational flow for qualification, a survey, or a booking request, test every step and its completion message. A collected booking request is not the same as a confirmed calendar reservation.
Explore conversational forms and flows5. Publish a small, well-tested starting point.
Check the widget on a phone and a laptop. Make sure its placement does not cover navigation, checkout controls, or important content. Test opening it, asking a question, and reaching your team. Start with a scope your team can review before adding more channels.
Use your account’s embed instructions and confirm the widget works on your actual website. WhatsApp and other channels require their own setup and eligible access; adding website chat does not automatically connect them.
Review available channels and integration setup6. Review quality and usage together.
After launch, read real conversations as well as the charts. Look for repeated questions, missing answers, handoff delays, and customer feedback. Fix the underlying source or process, then test again. Do not interpret a lack of feedback as proof that every customer was satisfied.
Check your dashboard’s credit usage and plan allowances before expanding. Credits measure operations rather than entire conversations, so message count alone cannot predict the cost. Compare your own observed workload with the current plan limits.
Understand how usage credits workA useful launch record
Keep a simple record with four columns: customer question, expected response, observed response, and next action. Include who owns each fix. This gives your team a repeatable review process as your business information changes.
